Mamma That Makes Itty Bitty Hat Drive 2019

We are so grateful to the Mamma that Makes blog for making us one of their official organisations to send donations to for their 2019 Hat Drive.

They are generously uploading a daily hat pattern too.

Their blog is worth checking out - it contains lots of great patterns!

6 - 8th September Boob Challenge

We had an impromptu boob challenge this weekend and asked members to knit, sew or crochet boobs.

These are used to help new and expectant Mums with Breastfeeding.

We were delighted when between us we made 190 over the weekend and the total is still rising.

Several sponsors pledged donations ranging from 2p per boob to a fixed amount.  This will help fund postage to send our boxes of donations to where they can help the most.

September Sewing Challenge - Walker Bags

Every month our members can participate in a voluntary knitting, a crochet and a sewing challenge.

This month our sewers are making walker bags

Our initial target is 50 ....... will we do it?????

While we are always very grateful to the members who help us by making things and fund raising to support postage costs, the hospitals we help are also grateful.

August Challenge Totals

Our August Challenges were crochet cardigans, sewn NICU Smocks and knitted Trudi Hearts.

We blew all our targets away and received

2019 Sewing Angels Twiddle Challenge

Our Sewing Angels have just completed an additional challenge of making 50 Sensory/Twiddle Mats to help people with dementia.  

Members could sponsor the challenge if they wanted to to try and raise much needed postage funds.

They made 91 between them and raised £70 towards Postage Costs.

Thank you to all that pledged to this fabulous Challenge and to the Sewing Angels for giving their time and resources to make these items.

August Crochet Challenge - Cardigans

Every month our members can participate in a voluntary knitting, a crochet and a sewing challenge.

This month our crocheters are making long sleeved cardigans

Our initial target is 50 ....... will we do it?????


August 12th Update ....... We've smashed it ... we currently have 105 cardigans! Amazing

August 18th Update ... We now have 146 cardigans.  Our members continue to be incredible! 

August Knitting Challenge - Trudi Hearts

Every month our members can participate in a voluntary knitting, a crochet and a sewing challenge.

This month our knitters are making Trudi Hearts, these are used in Angel packs and are in tribute to one of our Admin Team who sadly passed away recently.

As you can see our initial target of 100 has already been raised to 200!

11th August Update .... Our target has been raised to 300 and we currently have 273 Trudi Hearts ... maybe another rise will be necessary!

18th August Update ..... Our target has been raised again, we are not aiming for 400 and have 386, brilliant!
